Lele and her friends are always hanging out at her house, much to the chagrin of Vranek, an elderly professor who hates children and rents a room from her family. One day, Lele discovers that Vranek has devised a plan for taming the occasionally wild children. Lele and her friends aren’t going to go down without a fight, though, and what ensues is a hilarious series of events.

Author Biography

Christine Nöstlinger is the author of more than 70 books for children in her native German. She was nominated for the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1984 and received the Deutscher Jugendbuchpreis award for the best children’s book published in Germany. Soraya Hernán-Gòmez has worked as a freelance literary translator for more than 10 years. She has translated more than 40 German and Austrian books in a variety of genres.
